  1. Purpose and Scope

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) outline the conditions under which Riverview Chiropractic (“we”, “our”, “the clinic”) provides chiropractic and related services to patients (“you”, “your”).
By booking an appointment, attending a consultation, or using our online platforms, you agree to abide by these Terms.

Riverview Chiropractic provides evidence-informed chiropractic care for individuals aged 12 years and older, including:

  • Spinal adjustments and manipulation (including Activator Methods Chiropractic Technique)
  • Soft-tissue therapy
  • Exercise rehabilitation and stretching programs
  • Limited paediatric care (age 12+)

We are not an emergency service.
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 000 immediately.

  1. Bookings, Cancellations, and No-Shows
  • Appointments may be made in person, by phone, or via our secure online booking platform.
  • We require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling.
  • Cancellations or missed appointments with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur a $35 fee.
  • We reserve the right to reschedule appointments for patients who arrive late.
  • By booking, you acknowledge that this fee is reasonable and non-punitive in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.
  1. Fees, Payments, and Billing
  • Consultation fees (initial, standard, long, and rehabilitation visits) are as published on our website or at reception.
  • We accept HICAPS, Tyro, EFTPOS, and cash.
  • Medicare GP Chronic Condition Management Plans (Item 10964) are accepted with no gap fee. Eligibility is verified through PRODA and managed via Pracsuite each visit.
  • We accept ReturnToWorkSA, DVA, and approved insurer claims. Pre-approval is required.
  • All services provided are GST-free in accordance with Australian taxation law.
  • Requests for refunds must be made in writing to admin@riverviewchiro.com.au within 14 days of the invoice date.
  • Refunds will be assessed in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law and the clinic’s professional obligations.
  • No refunds are available for services already rendered, except where required under law.
  1. Consent to Care
  • You will be asked to provide written informed consent prior to your first treatment.
  • Consent will be renewed every 12 months thereafter or when clinically appropriate.
  • Informed consent includes discussion of the nature and purpose of care, expected benefits, potential risks, and alternative options.
  • You have the right to withdraw or refuse consent at any time without affecting your ongoing access to care.
  • For patients under 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian must be present to provide written consent.
  • The chiropractor may refer you to another health professional if your condition requires care beyond our scope of practice.
  • Telehealth services are not currently offered by Riverview Chiropractic.
  • Re-examinations are performed at least every 12 months or every 12 visits, whichever occurs first, to assess progress and adapt your care plan as needed.
  • No guarantees of outcomes are made. Care is evidence-informed and patient-centred, consistent with the Chiropractic Board of Australia’s Code of Conduct.
  1. Privacy, Records, and Communication

Your privacy and confidentiality are protected under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

  • Personal information is collected to provide safe, effective healthcare and manage administrative processes.
  • Health records are retained for 7 years after the last visit for adults, and until age 25 for minors (minimum 21 years).
  • You can request access to your records in writing. Details are available in our Privacy Policy at www.riverviewchiro.com.au.
  • My Health Record is not used by this clinic.
  • Appointment reminders may be sent via SMS or email. You may opt out at any time.
  • Marketing communications require your explicit opt-in consent (e.g., “Tick here to receive newsletters, special offers, and health tips”).
  • CCTV operates outside clinic premises for safety and security. Data is stored locally on a password-protected server.
  • In the event of a data breach, we comply with the Notifiable Data Breaches Scheme (Office of the Australian Information Commissioner – OAIC) and will notify affected individuals and regulators as required.
  1. Patient Rights and Responsibilities

We are committed to upholding the Australian Charter of Healthcare Rights, ensuring you receive care that is safe, respectful, and patient-centred.

You have the right to:

  • Access quality, evidence-based healthcare.
  • Be treated with respect, dignity, and cultural sensitivity.
  • Receive clear, honest communication about your health and treatment options.
  • Be involved in decisions about your care.
  • Privacy and confidentiality of your personal information.
  • Provide feedback or make a complaint without fear of retribution.

You have the responsibility to:

  • Provide accurate personal, health, and payment information.
  • Attend appointments or provide timely notice of cancellation.
  • Participate actively in your care plan and follow health recommendations.
  • Treat staff and other patients with respect.
  • Pay all fees and charges due in accordance with these Terms.
  1. Safety, Accessibility, and Infection Prevention
  • The clinic is wheelchair accessible.
  • Our team adheres to strict infection prevention and control protocols, including hand hygiene, surface cleaning, and daily onsite linen processing.
  • Patients displaying signs of infectious illness may be asked to reschedule.
  • We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for abusive, aggressive, or inappropriate behaviour toward staff or patients.

  • Users must provide accurate personal information when creating or managing bookings.
  • Patients must be 16 years or older to use online booking platforms.
  • You agree not to misuse the online platform for commercial, unlawful, or inappropriate purposes.
  • Your use of the platform indicates acceptance of these Terms and PracSuite’s own privacy and security conditions.
